To all of our customers who have purchased any Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines purchased from October 2014.
I have put up this page today (17th Dec 2019) in light of the latest news regarding some models of Hotpoint, Indesit and Whirlpool washing machines that carry a potential safety risk.
The potential design defect is with the door-locking system on washing machines that were sold in the UK from October 2014.
Whirlpool claim the potential risk could only occur when the heating element during a washing cycle goes above 20C.
Those who chose to continue using their machines should only use cold water cycles of 20C or lower as this significantly reduces the risk, according to Whirlpool.
I have added a Whirlpool twitter post to this page with a list of the affected models. You can also go here https://washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk/ to see if your model is affected.
I am not affiliated with Whirlpool in any way and have no insider knowledge regarding this news, however, any new information I find will be displayed here as and when.
We are experiencing technical problems with our website and customer service hotline, and are working to fix the issues as soon as possible. We will let you know as soon as they are live again. Please find affected model numbers below. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. pic.twitter.com/gfmIY9Lsvj— Whirlpool UK (@WhirlpoolUK) December 17, 2019
